Flaming Fable
If you are going to learn a lesson, make sure you learn the right one. In a little village, there lived a nobleman who would walk around his realm every day. Once cold winter morning, he came across a peasant shivering in the snow, and stopped out of compassion to help him build a fire. That done, he went on his way. However, when he stopped by the next day, the fire had gone out and the peasant had frozen solid. A few days later, he came across another peasant, and, keeping in mind his previous experience, promptly lit him on fire. The peasant ran away, screaming in what the nobleman could only assume was happiness to be freed from the cold. This is to show us that if you light a man a fire, he is warm for but a day, while if you light a man on fire, he is warm for the rest of his life.
